Air fryer caramelised bananas with pecans

This delicious and (relatively) healthy dessert is the perfect recipe to whip up in an air fryer
Athina Kontos

This recipe was made using a Cuisinart Air Fryer Mini Oven, £250

Ingredients

2 medium-large ripe bananas
1 tbsp dark muscovado sugar
1 tbsp butter (non-dairy spread if preferred)
1 tbsp golden syrup
1 tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
Small handful of pecans
Ice cream to serve
  1. Method

    Step 1

Line your air fryer tray with greaseproof paper

    Step 2

Cut the bananas lengthways and place evenly on the tray. Roughly chop and sprinkle the pecans over the top.

    Step 3

Mix the sugar, syrup, butter, vanilla and salt in a small bowl, into a creamy but pourable consistency. Spoon the mixture over the bananas and pecans, coating well. The mixture will pool over the sides but that’s ok!

    Step 4

Set your air-fryer to 180 C and cook for 6 minutes until golden brown.

    Step 5

Serve hot with an ice-cream flavour of your choice.
